Many patients dream of the benefits that come with having a beautiful smile. However, the idea of years spent dealing with uncomfortable metal braces keeps many from pursuing the orthodontic care their teeth need. Fortunately, there’s a discreet, comfortable alternative for straightening your smile. With Invisalign clear aligner trays, you can achieve the smile of your dreams without the discomfort of traditional metal braces.
With Invisalign treatment at Spaulding Dentistry, our dentist, Dr. Jocelyn Spaulding provides patients with top-of-the-line alignment therapy. Discover how Invisalign delivers the same stunning results as braces with a quicker, curated process that’s invisible to the people in your life.
Invisalign is a clear and comfortable custom alignment therapy. Since Invisalign aligners are transparent, there’s no unwanted attention to your mouth. By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you’ll notice sooner than you think. Invisalign gradually moves your teeth into alignment in phases until each tooth is in its ideal position. The aligners are comfortable to wear and easy to remove when you eat, brush, and floss.
Each Invisalign tray is made using 3-D imaging of your teeth, making it a highly effective treatment for mild to moderate orthodontic cases. Best of all, you can achieve your new smile in as little as 12 months.
Patients choose Invisalign for many reasons, from the convenience of having a removable aligner to rapid results. Explore some of the benefits of Invisalign treatment:
Invisalign aligners can typically deliver amazing results in just 12 to 18 months. Most patients are able to achieve a straighter smile in half the time compared to traditional metal braces.
Your treatment with Invisalign is planned out from the beginning for a personalized experience. Instead of visiting your orthodontist repeatedly, you’ll move through each customized phase of aligners and stop by for occasional checkups.
With Invisalign, you’ll simply remove your aligners to brush and floss your teeth. This allows you to maintain excellent oral hygiene over the course of your entire treatment without having to worry about dirtying your aligners.
Invisalign aligner trays are completely transparent, making them nearly impossible to notice while they’re being worn.
The thin, flexible material of your aligners won’t irritate the soft tissue of your mouth the way traditional metal braces can.
Metal braces require you to adjust your diet to protect them from damage and avoid getting food caught between brackets and wires. With Invisalign clear aligners, you’ll remove your trays before eating and enjoy all your favorite foods.
For patients with a teeth-grinding or clenching habit, Invisalign functions similarly to a nightguard and protects your teeth from excessive wear.
If these benefits have you wondering if Invisalign could be right for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Spaulding. You’ll discover what a life-changing investment Invisalign could be for your health, happiness, and self-esteem.
Starting with a consultation at our Decatur dental office, Dr. Spaulding will examine your teeth to determine if you’re a candidate for Invisalign. This will also be your opportunity to ask any questions about your treatment or bring up any other concerns you may have.
To ensure Invisalign is customized to your smile, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to create 3-D images. These images ensure your aligners are perfectly fitted to your teeth and mouth. When aligners have an exact fit, it reduces rubbing on the cheeks and gums, allowing for optimal comfort.
Every two weeks, you’ll receive a new set of aligner trays. You’ll wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours throughout the day and night, removing them only to eat or brush and floss your teeth. With each set of aligners, your teeth will shift into their proper place. Because they’re almost invisible, most people won’t even notice you’re correcting your smile’s alignment.
The staff and Dr. Spaulding herself are very professional & amazing. Every time I go, everyone is so sweet and kind. Always smiling. Everyone is so caring. I recommend this office to friends and family.

Honestly, it’s been really life-changing for me. Before to Dr. Spaulding I had never used dental floss my entire life, I really dreaded coming to the dentist and tried not to think about dental hygiene or preventive dentistry at all. Dr. Spaulding taught me preventive dentistry, that I can take of my own teeth though flossing and good dental hygiene at home. She gave the basic tools that allowed me to come to the dentist less and save a lot of money on dental care. It’s allowed my teeth and gums to become very healthy, something I know I’ll be able to maintain.

Dr. Spaulding has been fantastic. I started coming to her after my dental insurance had lapsed for a few years. She got me back on track and really healthy, and it’s been a pleasure and I highly recommend Dr. Spaulding and her team.

The best way to keep your aligners clean is to brush and rinse them in lukewarm water using special cleaning tablets. Make sure you remove them before each meal and brush your teeth before re-inserting them to maintain good oral hygiene.
Invisalign is made of clear, soft plastic, and molded to perfectly fit your mouth. This reduces rubbing and irritation on your mouth. You may experience some discomfort when you first wear your new set of aligners, but they just take some getting used to. Much like with traditional braces, your teeth will be shifting, which may cause some soreness. The discomfort should only last for a few days as your teeth move into their correct place.
Aside from having a straight, stunning smile you can be proud of, you may be asked to wear a retainer at night when your Invisalign treatment is complete. Every case is different, however, so Dr. Spaulding will assess your situation after you finish with your last set of aligners. This will ensure that your smile remains straight for years to come.
